It has become a sought after destination, for people from all walks of life, from all around the world. There are countless activities to enjoy in this exquisite mountain town, and yoga is among the options; both directly in the village and a short drive out of town. If you’re looking for a place to stay centered on your travels, or get grounded within the chaos, this guide will help you choose the perfect studio to suit your needs.

Partial to staying in your hotel?

Both the Four Seasons and Fairmont Chateau Whistler offer complimentary yoga classes for their guests. Offered in a small intimate setting, once or twice daily.

Like to Think Outside the Box?

If you’re visiting in the summer months, you can take your practice out on the lake with “Whistler Paddleboard Yoga” or deepen your trust with acrobatic play and partner yoga through “Whistler Acro Community.”

Depending on the timing of your visit, you may find a sponsored class through Lole, Lululemon, or Forlise. Beyond these options, there are six established yoga studios in Whistler for you to align your mind, body and soul.

In the small studio space, they offer Gentle Hatha and Yin Restorative as well as Pilates. Now if you’re looking to cozy up during the winter to the sound of music, crackling fire, and the delicious smell of coffee, they hold Coffee Yoga, Core Flow, Après Yoga and Integrated Core classes in their main room.

Offering Yoga in 12 studios in Vancouver & Toronto, YYoga has become an established and coveted name in the Yoga world. The studio in Whistler offers all of YYoga’s high standards and amenities in an adorable, comfortable setting. The showers, boutique and tea lounge invite students to come early and stay late, getting to know other students and staff.

This studio is a short distance out of town, but well worth the drive. Parking is free and accessible. It’s tucked in behind the Home Hardware with an array of other local businesses. Slightly out of the hustle-bustle and tourist traps that can engulf the village, this location has a warm, welcoming, and local feel.

Walled with mirrors, it’s a great place to come face-to-face with yourself and your inner world. If Hot Yoga isn’t your thing, there are also Flow, Power, Sage Aromatherapy Yin, and Core-Fusion classes.  Each class is taught by a dedicated and experienced teacher, and open to all levels of practitioner. It’s a large, beautiful room with lots of natural light, and has been operating as a yoga studio for over 15 years.

“I think anyone who practices Yoga will feel very at home, from the quality of the space, the bamboo floors, the peak a boo views of the mountains to the high quality of instructors.”

Yogacara is also located in the heart of Whistler Village, easily accessible without having to worry about transportation or parking. It’s in the St. Andrews building, across from the Keg restaurant. The studio is on the second floor and the windows are cleverly covered, so you can see out to the mountains without any worry of on-lookers. The studio is complimented with art on the walls, and a beautiful little nook to enjoy a cup of tea before or after class.

Yogacara offers an intimate class setting, with a maximum of 15 students in each class. Anyone is welcome, and there’s no need to be intimidated; whether you’ve done yoga 100 times, never tried it before, or have recently re-structured your practice for an injury, there will be options to move within your range and a skillful teacher to assist you. Although you may break a sweat in some classes, overall this space offers a more gentle variety of classes, and provides guidance on the spiritual elements of the practice. At peak times, during winter, it is a good idea to visit the website and reserve your spot.

“Our space is peaceful and inviting and our classes are welcoming to all levels. It is for students who appreciate compassion, connection, and community.”
