Shannon’s philosophy on healing revolves around movement. Particularly, with understanding how it feels to move and the sensations involved with different movements. She believes that with the combination of knowledge and feeling we have the insight to care for ourselves. At age 15 Shannon began practicing Yoga and this inspired her education. This led her to completing a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at University of Melbourne, Australia. In the Yoga world, she is an E-RYT and CEP. In the physiotherapy world, she uses movement to heal (as a preference over of manual treatment) and produces research in affiliation with a low back pain research group. Her current endeavors are guiding people to find the subtlety and fluidity of movement, and writing a book about the fundamentals of the body that are often overlooked and misunderstood. If you’re in Australia, you can find her teaching a variety of movement styles in the Byron Shire.
